As the senior manager for the Mathematics Teaching and Teacher Learning Program at Harvard University's Center for Education Policy Research, Claire oversees the development, delivery, and expansion of new mathematics coaching frameworks. In her time at CEPR, Claire has supported Heather C. Hill's research projects related to the improvement of math instruction, and her work currently focuses on instructional coaching in mathematics. Beginning with the MQI Coaching model, Claire has worked closely with researchers and practitioners to design coaching frameworks, develop professional learning opportunities for mathematics coaches and teachers, and train and support mathematics coaches. Claire has been both a coach and a trainer of coaches and has supported coaches in both research projects and fee-for-service professional development work. Recent coaching models Claire has helped develop include HEAR-MI Coaching, an equity-specific coaching protocol for mathematics teachers, and M-Powering Teacher Coaching, coaching routines that leverage machine learning automated feedback to support teacher self-reflection. Claire holds a B.A. in neuroscience from Middlebury College and an Ed.M. in mind, brain, and education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
