Elise Swanson is the Director of Research Initiatives for College and Career Success at CEPR, where she directs projects focused on using data and evidence effectively to support students’ preparation for, transitions into, and success in college and career pathways. This work, done in partnership with K-12 districts, community colleges, state education agencies, and other educational organizations, draws on the tools of program evaluation and mixed methods analytic techniques to offer nuanced, actionable insights for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners. Elise has a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin and a PhD in Education Policy from the University of Arkansas. She began her career as a high school English teacher in the Arkansas Delta.
