SDP Senior Research Manager Lindsay Page and HGSE Doctoral Candidate Benjamin Castleman named this year’s recipients of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators’ (NASFAA) 2012 Sponsored Research Grant Program. The program supports financial aid research, and selected Page and Castleman’s proposal for their unique work on reducing summer melt, the attrition that occurs after high school graduation and before matriculating to college. Page and Castleman will examine how their summer outreach program decreases the possible summer melt phenomenon of low-income, college-intending students. Upon completion of the study, they will submit their findings to the Journal of Student Financial Aid.
